Corofin is the Southern gateway to the Burren region of North Clare. It has a Heritage and Genealogical centre helping the relatives of many in the area, who were forced to emigrate in less prosperous time, trace their roots. 7 Pubs serve food during day and in the evening in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Traditional Music sessions are frequent and the annual Corofin Traditional Music Festival in March attracts many visitors every year. Good quality food stores provide for your daily needs.

The Burren
comprises approximately 100 square miles of bare limestone pavements, also known as Karst. In this lunar-type landscape one finds Alpine and Mediterranian plants growing side by side. It is also dotted with over 2,500 historic sites, including Dolmens, Wedge Tombs, Stone Forts, Monastic Sites and Castles. The 5,000 year old Poulnabrone Dolmen predates the Pyramids of Egypt.
In close proximity are the world famous

Cliffs of Moher
offering some of the most spectacular views in the country. In 2007 a State-of-the-Art Visitor and Interpretative Centre was opened there.
Ennis, voted as Ireland's tidiest large town in 2006 is 15 kms from Corofin. It could fairly be stated that this town is any of Ireland's cities in microcosm. Its attractiveness lies in its narrow winding streets, its 12th century abbey, its superb shopping, pubs, restaurants and the Glor Irish Music Centre. Traditional Music, song and dance have deep roots in the tradition and culture of County Clare. Villages as Kilfenora (15 mins from Corofin) and Miltown Malbay with the Willie Clancy Summer School have nurtured the traditions down the years.

Activitiesand leisure options are extensive! All of them can be enjoyed against the dramatic natural backdrops around . But also those who are not so eager to engage in the many active and passive pursuits available will enjoy the peace and tranquility, the flora and fauna and the ever changing Irish skies.

Within a short distance you can enjoy:
Course and Game fishing On many Lakes in the area.
