Corofin
Corofin is the gateway to the Burren in North Clare. Situated on the banks of the river Fergus it sits under the shadow of Mullaghmore on the southern edge of the Burren.

Should you wish to trace your roots you can do so in the Heritage centre. Corofin is just a short drive to many Co. Clare attractions such as Bunratty Castle and Folk park, Ailwee Cave, Black head, Lahinch Seaworld, Cliffs of Moher, Dromore lake and wood, Coole Park, Corcomroe Abbey, Dysart O'Dea archaelogical centre, Clare museum, Knappogue castle and many more.

A short distance from the village is Inchiquin lake, which is famous for its fishing.

The Burren
The Burren is unique in that it is the only Karst region in Western europe. It is made up of porous limestone rock which accounts for the underground rivers and the magical cave formations - Aillwee Cave is the most famous for these cave formations.

During late Spring, the famous Burren wild flowers can be seen at their best. The landscape has a lunar appearance, especially after a shower, and is truly a magical place.
