 Fuchsia
Cottage is situated on an elevated position in rural
countryside close to Kilfenora, overlooking the
rolling hills of the North Clare landscape. It is
far away from any major road and the area is very quiet
and peaceful. The nearly traffic free country lanes
invite for walks and bicycle rides. The area is also
famous for the excellent fishing in the many lakes between
here and Corofin. The Burren plateau
of North-West Clare is very close and famous for walking,
climbing and for its splendid fauna. You can read more
about the Burren region and the activities possible
in the area on the following

 Kilfenora
is a small charming village on the southwest edge of
the Burren region and is well known as a visitor gateway
to the area. The interpretative centre in the village
unfolds the mysteries and delights of the area in an
entertaining and informative way. The remains of a 12th
century cathedral and numerous well preserved high
crosses can be found in the centre of the village. To
many people the name Kilfenora is also synonymous with
its famous Céili Band. Fuchsia Cottage is the ancestral
home of the Lynches whose family were instrumental
in establishing the Kilfenora Céili Band early in the
last century. Your host is also a current member of
the band. See also the band's website - click here
