Long
Cove Lodge - the Golfers' Lodge!! Personal
Golf Trips arranged - see below!
Long
Cove Lodge, which sits atop a cliff in Liscannor
village directly overlooking Liscannor Bay
and across to the famed dunes of world-famous
Lahinch Golf Club, is a favourite among
visiting golfers. This luxury lodge offers
all visitors a relaxing home away from home,
but it is the visiting golfers who truly
appreciate the golfing rapport with the
Proprietor, Kevin McGrath, a member of nearby
Lahinch and Portmarnock in Dublin. Long
Cove Lodge is adorned with golfing trophies,
books and memorabilia from Kevin's 30-year
world-wide odyssey pursuing his favourite
sport. Following a period of assisting his
many golfing friends across the globe to
arrange golf trips around Ireland, Kevin
has now launched The Irish Golfing Experience
Register (TIGERegister) and is offering
a personalised service of arranging golf
tours to all parts of Ireland for golfing
aficionados who appreciate his expertise
and knowledge of the game and courses available.
"Playing golf in Ireland is truly an
experience", he enthuses, "and
it is not all about the courses. It is also
about the spectacular scenery, the friendly
welcome, the accommodations, the pubs and
the restaurants, all of which add greatly
to the experience". With Ireland recently
voted the top golfing destination in the
world by the International Association of
Golf Tour Operators, the number of golfers
visiting the country is increasing every
year and availability of tee times at the
more popular courses can often be a challenge.
As Kevin explains: "golfers who desire
to play the more famed links, such as Ballybunion,
Lahinch, Portmarnock, Royal County Down
and Royal Portrush, increasingly have to
book early to avoid the disappointment of
not getting on some of these courses. I
would advise clients to try to book their
trip as early as possible and to avoid the
pitfall of trying to play all of the top
courses in the one trip, unless they plan
to spend three weeks here. With so many
great links courses now available, I believe
that there are now three separate regions
that golfers could (- and should) visit,
the south and south west incorporating Old
Head, Waterville, Dooks, Killarney, Tralee,
Ballybunion (Old and Cashen), Doonbeg and
Lahinch, the east and north incorporating
European Club, Island, Portmarnock, County
Louth, Royal County Down, Royal Portrush
and Portstewart, and the west and north
west incorporating Connemara, Carne, Enniscrone,
County Sligo,Donegal, Rosapenna (Old and
New) and Ballyliffen (Old and New)."
Golfers who " sign up to TIGERegister"
will be assured of a top-class personalised
service and will receive a twice yearly
e-mail newsletter informing them of special
promotions, tournaments and events that
might be of interest to them.
