The cottages are situated in the heart of the Burren making it the perfect place to explore the wealth of activities that Clare has to offer. Doolin & Ailwee caves and boats to the Aran Islands are 10 minutes drive away; the Cliffs of Moher 20 minutes; Fanore beach is a 10 minute walk for surf lessons or a leisurely stroll, the rugged landscape offers abundant climbing with experienced local guides and a wealth of trails for all levels. All of this and much more at your doorstep.

Poulnabrone Dolmen

The Ballyreen area of Fanore is a paradise for divers, with visibility of 25 meters. The clear unpolluted waters along the coast are a haven for shore angling.

Hiking in the Burren

The green roads are the old Burren roads and are perfect to explore this landscape on short and long walks. The Burren Way is a signposted long distance walking trail between Lahinch, Ballyvaughan and the Burren National Park. The Doolin/Cliffs of Moher walk is an exciting way to experience the Cliffs of Moher. The quiet backroads of North Clare are perfect for cycling! Several cycle loops are established in the region (one of which passes near the house), bicycles can be rented in Doolin and Kilfenora. Guided tours are available!

Golf in Lahinch

Golfers will enjoy the proximity of nearby courses like the Links in Lahinch just 25 minutes away. More beautifully located courses can be found in Gort, Ennis, Doonbeg, Spanish Point, Kilkee and Kilrush!

If you want to take it leisurely spend the day at Fanore Beach swimming, surfing or sun bathing. Your children will enjoy making sandcastles and bathing in the lovely sea waters of Fanore. The clear waters of the Caher Valley River are a sanctuary of warm pools, a paradise for sunbathing and if it’s your pleasure you can avail of a guided tour in the lovely meadows of the Caher Bridge Garden.
